Sport

At Melton Christian College, Primary Physical Education (P-6) is offered three times a week, with one class dedicated to fundamental skills and a double period focusing on a selected sport. The primary focus of the curriculum for Prep to Grade 2 is to enhance the development of movement concepts, including body and spatial awareness. As the children progress into Grades 3-6, they are introduced to specific seasonal sports that will lead to successful participation on Middle and Upper School teams. As students become familiar with a variety of sporting rules and requirements, the Physical Education program is extended by a variety of inter-school sporting competitions. The Melton Christian College Primary School fields teams in the Melton Primary Schools Sports Association and then students have the opportunity to compete in the Christian Schools Sports Network and the Western Christian Schools Sports Association in Secondary School.  The Year 7-10 Program is centred around extending the skill levels of students through a wide variety of sports while focusing on self and peer evaluation through this process.  Students are invited to take part in a wide variety of co-curricular activities.

Sporting teams in local competition include:  Cricket, Hockey, Netball, Basketball, Volleyball, Badminton, Softball, Tennis, Soccer, Touch Football, Cross-Country, Track and Field and Football.

Annually, all students compete in Swimming, Athletics and Cross-Country Carnivals.

Parent involvement with sporting teams is most welcome.
