Fairtrade Awareness Day
This week our MCC VCAL students promoted the coffee beans they have been using all year by hosting Fairtrade Awareness Day. They researched the benefits of the Fairtrade program and how it aims to reduce poverty and poor working conditions of farmers along with protecting the environment.
The Energiser Café was decorated and the students provided information on the program to their customers. They aimed to donate 15% of profits from the day to the Fair Trade Association of Australia and New Zealand.
Finally, as part of their VCAL coursework, the students will evaluate the success of the promotion from surveys taken before and after the campaign.
