Partnering Through Communication

Newsletter | Toolern Vale Update

Parent partnership is incredibly important for the success of your children, and you’ll hear us mention it often as members of our MCC community. Our mission is focused on supporting our students as whole people, caring for them in every part of their lives. We truly believe that your involvement as parents and families is key to your children’s success, and we’re excited to work together with you every step of the way.

One of the best ways we can partner effectively is through open communication. We not only value your input but also need to stay in touch with you regularly and transparently. Most of the time, simple ways to communicate – like a note in the diary, a quick email, or a chat at pick-up – are great for keeping us updated. Of course, there will be times when we need to have deeper conversations, and those moments are incredibly important. It’s through these conversations that we build stronger connections and gain a greater understanding of one another.

At the heart of our partnership is Respect. Respect is one of our schools five Core Values. We show respect in the way we speak to, and treat one another and your children – and this respect must always be mutual. When challenges arise, whether via communication from us or from you, it’s essential to approach these with kindness and understanding. Difficult moments often require extra patience, and we know that by facing them together, we actually strengthen our connection and relationship with each other. If you are ever unsure about how best to communicate, or who you should be communicating with at different times, please check our handbook or website for clarity. We have clearly set out processes and procedures to make this as simple, consistent and straightforward as possible for you.
