Your Labour is Not in Vain
I have the privilege each week to be part of a Secondary team that reflects a commitment to teaching and learning. As we wrap up week five, our Secondary students have already participated in the Year 12 and Senior Leadership retreats, a Year 7 camp, and our annual swimming carnival. While these activities have taken place outside the classroom, they have contributed to the personal development of students and have helped create safe and positive learning spaces. As Secondary staff, we value all aspects of the curriculum that support students in being part of an active learning environment.
Our Year 7 camp is an excellent example of this. Students participated in team-building activities and focused discussions, which encouraged friendship groups, particularly among new students. These events are timely and play an important role in the start of a new school year.
The Bible reminds us to “Stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labour in the Lord is not in vain ” (1 Corinthians 15:58). As Christian educators, what we do today can lead to long-term benefits for our students. We value every opportunity, from running camps to providing timely feedback on assessments.
Finally, I would like to thank all Secondary parents for partnering with our staff to support learning opportunities in all aspects of school life, especially at the start of the year. Every time this partnership is strengthened, so is the success of our students.
