2023 Musical Update
As you may already be aware, Matilda Jr will be the 2023 Secondary School Production.
Matilda Jr is the story of a girl who dreams of a better life. This small girl shows her astonishing wit and intelligence through the production. She’s unloved by her cruel parents but impresses her schoolteacher, the highly loveable Miss Honey. Matilda’s school life isn’t completely smooth sailing either and the school’s mean headmistress, Miss Trunchbull, hates children and just loves thinking up new punishments for those who don’t abide by her rules. But Matilda with both her courage and cleverness, in equal amounts, is able to inspire her classmates to rise up.
Whilst our performances in June seem a long way off, it hasn’t stopped a number of our students already learning songs and lines from the musical, and auditioning (over the last 2 weeks) to be part of the 2023 cast. Mrs Bendall and myself, alongside our choreography team, have auditioned a number of talented and keen potential cast members. The quality of these auditions were of such a high standard, it made casting a real challenge for us. The cast will find out their roles during our first rehearsal on Tuesday November 08 after school at 3:40pm.
Mrs Bendall and I are looking forward to working with this cast.
