A Place Where Children Thrive and Flourish

Newsletter | Toolern Vale Update

It’s a joy to witness our students flourish – not only in their academic achievements, but in the way they express their passions, explore their talents, and grow into the unique individuals they are made to be. This term has been filled with many opportunities for our students to step into new experiences, both in the classroom and beyond, and it’s been a joy to see them embrace each moment with enthusiasm and courage.

At our school, we believe that every child is wonderfully different. We celebrate those differences and encourage our students to focus on their own journey—not by comparing themselves to others, but by striving to be a little better than they were yesterday. This is how we embrace and nurture excellence and a passion for learning—two values that sit at the core of everything we do.

Our students each bring something unique—some excel in sport, others in music, creativity, or the arts. At MCC, we embrace these differences and are committed to creating opportunities for every student to discover and grow in their own skills and passions. It’s especially moving during chapel to see students who may struggle with confidence shine as they lead, perform, and worship with joy. These moments remind us of the power of encouragement, faith, and community in helping every child thrive.

We are also incredibly grateful for the strong sense of community that surrounds our students—families, staff, and peers working together to create a safe, loving, and encouraging environment where every child can thrive.

James Clear’s book ‘Atomic Habits’ speaks about the power of small, consistent steps—the 1% improvements that lead to lasting transformation. This is reflective of the journey of faith and growth we see in our students each day. As they make choices, face challenges, and take small steps forward, we are reminded of God’s gentle shaping of their lives. What a privilege it is to walk alongside them, encouraging them to grow not only in knowledge and character, but also in their understanding of who they are. We can see that God is at work in every moment, guiding them toward the future He is preparing them for.
