A Prayer for Beginnings

Newsletter | Primary Update

It’s a joy to welcome you and your children back for the start of Term Two. I hope the school holidays provided some well-earned rest, fun, and time together as a family. As we return to our usual school routine, the Primary team are looking forward to all the learning and growth that this term will bring.

One of the great blessings of Melton Christian College is the strong partnership we share with families. We saw this at the end of last term and the positive parent teacher conversations that were had. By working together, we’re all ensuring your children are encouraged to thrive in every possible way. Thank you for continuing to walk alongside us as we support your child to become all that God has created them to be.

If you don’t already do so, I would encourage you to look at the doing verse with your child/ren each week. We call them doing verses because we want to DO these things, not just MEMORISE the words. The doing verses can be found in the college diary and they are discussed in the classroom each week. We’ve had two amazing verses to kick off term two. This week, we begin the term by reflecting on Romans 8:28: “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.” What a comforting promise for our students, staff, and families as we journey through the remainder of this term. We believe that we all have a purpose that God has called us to – this includes you, your children, and the MCC staff. Next week we will be learning how to do Philippians 4:6: “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” As the term becomes busy, this verse reminds us to bring everything to God in prayer and trust Him with the details. We hope you find peace and reassurance by knowing that our staff pray specifically for your child/ren. We believe God is present in everything that happens at MCC and He cares about everything that happens at MCC.

Our prayer for this term is that it will be filled with meaningful learning, moments of joy, and strong community connections. Our hope is that each child feels known, valued, and encouraged as they grow in knowledge, confidence, and character.
