A School Of Opportunity

Schools provide many opportunities for students. They are more than places where information is shared in classrooms, they are places where knowledge is understood and becomes meaningful learning. Alongside learning their subjects, students also have opportunities to develop the skills needed to complete assessment tasks, be proactive in following up work requirements, and meet deadlines.

As a Christian school, our college also provides opportunities for students to develop an understanding of the teachings of Jesus and how these apply to everyday life. Students learn in a safe environment and are known as individuals, which helps shape the support they receive.

This term has already provided many such opportunities, including the Year 11 camp at Tamborine, Queensland. Students returned speaking positively about their experiences and the activities in which they participated, which were designed to build teamwork across the year level as they prepare for their final year. Students also took part in our school musical, The Pirates of Penzance JR., sharing their talents with families and friends. Additionally, our annual House Battles brought students together in friendly competition, encouraging collaboration and community across the secondary school. All these experiences are a genuine blessing to our students, staff, and families.

As Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths”. This verse is central to who we are and gives us confidence as we continue through the term, trusting God to guide and support us in the planning and implementation of our classes and programs.
