A Time of Significant Sacrifices

Newsletter | Secondary Update

As we commence Term Two, I trust you had the opportunity to spend time with family and friends, reflecting on the Easter story and the love and sacrifice made by Jesus. As we return to school, we also take the opportunity this week to remember another significant sacrifice—the sacrifice of the ANZACs. This is an important time in the school calendar, as we pause to reflect on and remember the many sacrifices that have been made.

The ANZAC Day service was hosted by the senior student leadership team and attended by members of Parliament and the local council. I would personally like to acknowledge the efforts of Mr. James Ikonomou and the student leadership team for their dedication in organising this meaningful event.

I would also like to thank the many parents who participated in the parent-teacher interviews. As a school, we value the opportunity to meet with as many parents as possible to provide feedback and discuss ways to support students moving forward. The online platform worked well again this year, and we trust it continues to offer flexibility during your daily commitments.

Learning in Term Two will include a range of opportunities, including excursions, exams and camps. Week One featured the Year 10 camp, a two-night event held at Mill Valley Ranch where students participated in a range of activities exploring empathy, homelessness and teamwork.

Finally, while teaching and learning continue this term, I encourage you to maintain strong and positive connections with subject teachers. Ongoing feedback is a valuable way to support the success of students.
