Building Community at MCC: Online Campus Camp 2025
At the end of last term, the Online Campus at Melton Christian College took a bold step beyond the screen and into the great outdoors, as students gathered for an unforgettable camp experience designed to strengthen community and MCC culture.
Held in beautiful Stringybark Lodge, the camp brought together students who usually connect virtually, giving them the chance to meet face-to-face, build friendships, and share in a wide range of exciting activities.
The most popular activity by far was the flying fox, where students soared through the air with laughter and cheers echoing through the trees. But the adventures didn’t stop there. Campers also took part in caving, abseiling, orienteering, bike riding, and archery—each activity offering new challenges and opportunities to support one another.
These shared experiences were more than just fun—they were a powerful way to live out one of MCC’s core values: community. Whether navigating a cave or cheering on a friend at the archery range, students practiced teamwork, encouragement, and resilience.
The camp was thoughtfully designed to foster connection and deepen the culture of the Online Campus. Through group activities, shared meals, and evening reflections, students had space to grow spiritually, socially, and emotionally. It was a time of laughter, learning, and lasting memories.
As we return to our online classrooms, the bonds formed at camp continue to shape our community. We’re excited to see how this experience will enrich our interactions and strengthen our shared commitment to MCC’s values.
