Celebration
We all love a celebration, whether it is a birthday, winning a sports event, or a family occasion. At our college, we also love to celebrate the many achievements and experiences we share throughout the year. This may be academic success, but it can also be simple acts of kindness shown from one student to another. These values are wonderful reasons to celebrate.
It is important to pause for a moment and acknowledge the things we celebrate, as the busyness of life can distract us and we may miss the opportunity. Pausing to celebrate reinforces the good things we appreciate about our college, our staff, and our students.
Recently, we have had the opportunity to celebrate some significant moments, such as our academic awards for students in Years 7–11 at their assemblies. Many students have worked hard, and these moments allow us to stop and celebrate individual success.
We also celebrated the completion of 13 years of schooling for our Year 12s at our Valedictory and Graduation evening. It was a wonderful celebration with family, friends, and staff, and a chance to hear from students about their memories.
Soon we will pause again for our end of year Awards Night. This will highlight more academic success for our Year 12 students, as well as our Core Value Awards across Years 7–12. These are essential, as they acknowledge not only academic achievement but also growth in character, both individually and across our school community.
Finally, as we enter the last part of the year, we celebrate the greatest gift given to us through Jesus Christ as a Christian community. This Christmas, may you take the time to rest and enjoy each other’s company.
We wish you all a wonderful break and a very happy New Year.
