Last Tuesday, the College held our regular Performing Arts Soiree and Art on Show at MCC, a true embodiment of our Core Values: Community and Excellence.

The Soiree was a resounding success, shining a spotlight on our students’ incredible talents and our staff’s unwavering dedication. It underscored how the arts can unite and inspire, reinforcing the significance of our Core Values.

Songs from this year’s secondary musical “Matilda” were revisited, showcasing exceptional talent within our performing arts department and exemplifying Excellence. The Senior Vocal Group left an indelible mark with their beautiful harmonies, highlighting our students’ remarkable talents. Our Concert Band and VET Music Band impressed, underlining Excellence in our music programs.

VCE Theatre Studies students took us on a thought-provoking journey, highlighting their creativity and dedication. Junior Secondary Drama students displayed budding talent, affirming the promising future of performing arts at MCC.

The Soiree underscored our Community spirit, rooted deeply in our school, and the unwavering support of parents and families enhanced this sense of togetherness.

Added to the nights event was our Arts on Show exhibition which featured many extraordinary pieces of art work developed by students from Years 7 to 12.

As we reflect on this evening, we recognise the vital role the arts play in nurturing our core values. The Soiree demonstrated how Community and Excellence inspire and unite. Our students’ achievements in the performing arts attest to our school’s commitment to these values.

I extend heartfelt thanks to Mrs Bendall and her team who contributed to this exceptional evening, eagerly anticipating the continued growth and success of our students in the performing arts.
