Embracing Change As We Wrap Up The Year

Newsletter | Toolern Vale Update

As the school year comes to a close, our children will find themselves facing a mix of emotions—pride in what’s been accomplished, excitement for a well-deserved break, and, of course, some anticipation and uncertainty about what the next school year will bring. Questions about which teacher your child will have, what class they will be in, and what new experiences await can create a sense of the unknown. While these uncertainties can feel overwhelming, they also present an opportunity for growth, exploration, and a fresh start.

The end of the year is the perfect time to reflect on all that has been learned and experienced. It’s a moment to celebrate progress, whether it’s academic achievements, personal growth, or the new friendships that have blossomed. While we may not have all the answers yet, we can help our children embrace these unknowns with a positive mindset. Change can feel daunting, but it’s also an exciting opportunity to learn new things, meet new people, and discover new passions.

The Christian bible teaches that stepping into the unknown is not about knowing every step ahead, but about trusting God. We are encouraged to “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.” These words emphasise that even when the way forward is unknown or unclear, God promises to lead those who trust in Him.
