Finishing Well

Newsletter | Secondary Update

Many of us are familiar with the phrase “finish well.” We hear it among coaches encouraging their teams to push through the final minutes of a game and teachers reminding students to give their best at the end of a project. These examples remind us that finishing well really matters.

One of Jesus’ followers, Paul, also speaks in the Bible about finishing well. Reflecting on his own experiences, he uses images like running the race and keeping the faith to describe how he lived with purpose and endurance. His words remind us that perseverance is an important part of life.

As we come to the end of the academic year, this principle is also relevant. Many of our Year 12 students have already demonstrated what it means to finish well through their exams, and many Year 7-11 students are currently doing the same. Taking this approach in education develops resilience and gives students a genuine sense of achievement, knowing they have done their best.

We are also about to begin QuickStart and Orientation Day, which will allow students to meet their teachers for next year. These events highlight the importance of finishing well, while also creating opportunities for a strong and successful beginning in 2026.

We congratulate all our students for their hard work, perseverance, and commitment throughout the year.
