Growing Together

Newsletter | Secondary Update

The journey through Secondary school involves a range of staff and teachers working together to support the learning and development of students as they prepare for their career pathways. I have the privilege of witnessing this in action daily, whether it’s through observing classes, events, assemblies, or other activities. Together, our students are growing.

As Term One comes to an end, there have been many opportunities for both staff and students to engage in meaningful learning experiences. Recently, our Year 12 Geography excursion offered valuable insights into land use from both local and Indigenous perspectives. These experiences are significant in broadening the understanding of our students. In addition, our Year 10 incursion welcomed the Victoria Police, who shared important lessons on respectful behaviour and online safety. Our student leaders continue to inspire their peers by hosting weekly assemblies. These events inform and encourage the student body, reflecting their leadership skills and commitment. This kind of learning and growth is inspiring.

The Bible speaks about the strength of people growing together in this way – “from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love”. This principle of the Christian community, helping one another to learn and grow, reflects the shared commitment of parents, staff, and students working together at Melton Christian College.

We trust that the term break will provide you and your children with an opportunity to rest and reflect on the love of Jesus through the Easter story of sacrifice and new life.
