“I’m So Happy To Be Back!”
Monday morning was a wonderful occasion as we welcomed our students and their families back for the start of a new term. Many of our students were excited and enthusiastic to be back, especially one of our students who eagerly passed by Ms. Walshe and me, exclaiming, “I’m so happy to be back! I’m so happy it’s winter! I’m so happy to be at school again!” While it may not officially be winter yet, we can certainly understand the thinking, given the chillier mornings and the transition to our winter uniforms.
We are deeply honoured that our students feel safe and excited to return to our college grounds. Our aspiration is for them to approach each day with enthusiasm for learning, feeling welcomed, cared for and nurtured. As Christian educators, we hold our responsibility in high regard. As a Christian school, it is our mission for our students to experience and share love, just as Jesus loves us, as stated in John 15:12: “My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.” We strive for our students to recognise their inherent value, as emphasised in Psalm 139:14: “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” We are committed to supporting our students in realising their full potential in Christ, echoing God’s words in Jeremiah 29:11: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” It is indeed a blessing to integrate these spiritual principles into our curriculum.
As we begin this new term, let us continue to uplift our children in prayer by praying for their growth and flourishing in all aspects of learning and life. I invite you to join us in this prayer.
