Learning Opportunities Beyond The Classroom
As we commence Term 3, we trust that students have taken the opportunity to rest, complete any required work, and are feeling ready to return to their studies. As staff, we are looking forward to supporting student learning across the Secondary campus.
We love opportunities at MCC, and we are grateful that you have chosen this college to partner with us as we provide these opportunities for students. As a Christian school, we are thankful for the opportunity to serve others, and we do not take this responsibility for granted. I’d like to share just a few with you.
As a college, we are thankful for the students that have started at MCC this term and we are grateful for the trust each parent and guardian has placed in us. We take these moments seriously and do our best to ensure that new students have what they need to succeed. Our coordinators and teachers play an important part in walking alongside students as they begin their journey at MCC.
Term 3 is also a great time for all students to reflect on their Semester 1 reports and look for ways to strengthen and grow in their learning. It’s a valuable time to speak with teachers and set goals for the term ahead.
While classroom learning remains a priority, we also value other learning opportunities. Already this term, our Year 7&8 students have participated in an incursion by Project Rockit, which focused on developing positive face-to-face and online relationships, and developing respect within our school community. To help develop this further, our Year 7 students will soon begin the PeaceWise program, which will run throughout Semester 2.
Next week, our Year 11 students will head to Emu Gully Adventure Camp in Queensland. This camp is always a highlight of the year and an exciting and team-building experience that students often speak highly of on their return.
All these opportunities are designed to complement the teaching and learning at MCC. Thank you also for encouraging your children to make the most of these opportunities.
I look forward to another successful term and to sharing more of these moments with you in the weeks ahead.
