Looking forward to a new term!
Welcome back to Term 3! I hope your family enjoyed a happy break together and created some fun memories.
It was such a joy to stand at the gate yesterday morning and see so many smiling, excited faces returning to school. I asked many students if they were ready to learn this term and they all responded with a “Yes!”
Our teachers are genuinely looking forward to teaching this term. They care deeply about their students and work incredibly hard to create engaging learning experiences. At MCC, we want teaching and learning to happen as successfully as possible so that every student can flourish academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually.
One of the things we value most at our college is the partnership between home and school. Parents play an important role in supporting learning by regularly checking their child’s Canvas page, discussing learning at home, and contacting teachers promptly if questions or concerns arise. Addressing matters early often helps prevent misunderstandings and allows us to work together more effectively.
Partnership also becomes especially important when teachers need to communicate about behaviour choices made during the school day. These conversations are never the part of the job teachers enjoy most, but they are often necessary for helping children grow in character, responsibility, and ownership. Our staff are committed to investigating situations carefully, communicating honestly, and seeking the best outcome for every child. We are always grateful when families approach these conversations with trust and a shared desire to support their child’s growth. When home and school work together, students have a team that are united in helping them to learn from these experiences and move forward positively, knowing there are better choices to make as they get older.
There is a lot to look forward to this term. We are excited for the learning that will take place in every classroom, our Parent Teacher Conversations in the final week of term, and of course the Years 3–6 production of Winnie the Pooh. I am looking forward to seeing all that is achieved this term.
