Partnering Together for Your Child’s Success

Newsletter | Primary Update

At Melton Christian College, we deeply believe that education works best when it’s a partnership. When families and schools work together, children flourish – not just in their learning, but in their confidence, wellbeing, and character.

We know that you are your child’s first and most important teacher. That’s why we value the relationship we have with you.

Our staff are committed professionals who care deeply about every child. Our teachers work hard every day to create engaging, supportive learning environments. They tailor lessons to meet individual needs, nurture curiosity, and help students build resilience and independence. But the impact of this work is even greater when it’s reinforced at home.

Here are some simple ways you can support what’s happening in the classroom – and why they matter:

  • Reading with your child at home builds on the literacy strategies we use at school. It helps children develop fluency, comprehension, and a love of stories.
  • Supporting homework routines reinforces the skills your child is learning and shows them that learning doesn’t stop at the school gate.
  • Talking openly with teachers helps us understand your child better and allows us to work together to support their growth.
  • Being open to teacher feedback shows your child that learning is a journey – and that it’s okay to need help along the way.
  • Trusting our staff means recognising that we care deeply about your child’s wellbeing and success. We see their strengths, we celebrate their progress, and we’re here to guide them through challenges.

When home and school are aligned, children feel safe, understood, and empowered. They know the adults in their lives are working together, and that makes a big difference.

As Ecclesiastes 4:9 reminds us – “Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labour.”

Thank you for walking this journey with us. Your partnership means so much – not just to us, but to your child as well.
