Partnership in Action

Newsletter | Principal's Message

Dear Parents,

Partnership is the act of working together for the true benefit of your child.

Partnership works when families and educators share a common purpose, and the good news is that almost entirely, our parents and our staff do partnership well.

Perhaps you could think of our College community as an ecosystem. In healthy forests, waterways, marine reefs or other ecosystems, every part is connected and contributes to the wellbeing of the whole. In the same way, when parents, students and staff work together with trust and mutual respect, opportunities for learning, growth and flourishing increase significantly, our good school gets better.

Our staff want every student to develop a love of learning, a commitment to growth and the confidence to pursue their God-given potential. You parents want our teachers to continue refining their practice and inspiring young people to achieve their best. We all want our community to be characterised by faith, service, belonging and a commitment to society that is wholesome.

These goals cannot be achieved by teachers alone, nor in fact can they be achieved by parents alone. These goals only become realities when parents choose to partner with teachers, and vice-versa.

Partnership is open and respectful communication between home and school. It is when parents reinforce positive habits and values at home. Partnership is parents and teachers believing each other and speaking wholesomely to each other…. as partners. And that is when, importantly, partnership is evident to the children themselves, when they see the significant adults in their lives working together on their behalf.

Imagine the culture we can create together, when every family does these things. Imagine a College strengthened by shared purpose, where students are known, supported and encouraged to thrive.

Together, let us continue to make partnership not simply an aspiration, but a daily reality.
