Every fortnight, I have the amazing opportunity to share with you the things that our children have been involved in at school.

Our wonderful Preps celebrated their 100th day of school recently. It was a fun day where they did many activities about the number 100 and were able to dress up in a way that reflected the number 100. As they arrived on the school grounds, they were greeted with staff wearing funny hats, balloons, bubbles and some of their Year 6 buddies even came in early to welcome them.

On the same day, our Years 1 to 6 students participated in our very own mini Commonwealth Games. Mrs Palmieri and our Year 6 students did an amazing job of setting up all the sporting events. Our Year 6 students were in charge of each sport and ran each event. We are very proud of the leadership skills that they displayed during this fun time. All staff and students thoroughly enjoyed these sessions together.

We have a big week next week – Book Week! Whilst learning activities will be done throughout this week, the bigger events will be happening on Thursday 25 August. Our Book Character Parade will be happening during the morning. You are welcome to join us in the Auditorium for the times where your child is participating. A separate letter has already gone home about this, but here is a reminder of the times:

  • Prep – 9:10am to 9:30am
  • Years 1 and 2 – 9:40am to 10:00am
  • Years 3 to 6 – 10:10am to 10:30am

In the afternoon we have an incursion by “Tony Bones”. The children will be treated to a live, interactive production of the book, “The Imagineer”. We can’t wait!

A huge thank you to Mr Passarini, our ICT Library Technician, for the preparation he has put into this week so that it is a memorable learning experience for your child.

Remember, if you are unsure of the suitability of your child’s book character choice, contact your child’s homeroom teacher as they will be able to guide you.

Please monitor your emails for information on these upcoming events:

  • Father’s and Father Figures Celebration – Wednesday 31 August
  • Primary Musical – Madagascar: A Musical Adventure Jr. – Tuesday 13 to Thursday 15 September

Thank you for supporting these unique learning opportunities.
