Read, Grow, Inspire
We are in the midst of Book Week. The theme for 2023 is “Read, Grow, Inspire.” Whilst we are focusing on the short-listed story, Jørn’s Magnificent Imagination by Coral Vass, our hope at Melton Christian College is that our children will read, grow and be inspired by reading the greatest book ever – The Bible.
We have already seen the way our children have been inspired by it as they participated in our Bible character dress up day a few weeks ago. Let’s pray that it continues to inspire them long after their time at MCC has finished. Jørn’s Magnificent Imagination tells the story of the architect who designed the Sydney Opera House. He loves building, creating and gathering ideas. We want to encourage this in our children. We want them to be inspired by their imagination, to be creative, to dream and to allow their talents to develop so that they can fulfill the plan God has for their lives. Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.” Ask your children about both of these books as you sit around the dinner table this week and allow them to share what they have learnt.
There are still many exciting learning opportunities coming up in the last four weeks of this term. Take note of your child’s Canvas page each week as this will be updated to assist you with your planning.
