Relationships Matter
One of the things we care deeply about in the Primary School is that every child is known. Not just known academically but known as a person.
It starts with relationships. Our Primary team know the names of the children they teach, and they invest time in building genuine connections with them. Teachers work hard planning, preparing and collaborating together to ensure strong learning happens across all subject areas, so children are supported, challenged and encouraged to grow.
Getting to know our students also means taking an interest in what matters to them. Things like their hobbies, the sports they play, the teams they barrack for, and what excites them. A chat about a weekend footy match, a newly crocheted character or a favourite book or movie might seem small, but it sends a powerful message to children that they matter, and that we care about them.
We believe God created every child uniquely, and we are honoured to be part of what He has created. God knows all of us intimately (even to the number of hairs on our head!) and it is joy to get to know His children more each year.
A key part of truly knowing children is working in partnership with you as parents. The role you play is incredibly important. You know your child better than anyone, and the insights you share help us support them well. Our start‑of‑year questionnaires are especially valuable, and we genuinely thank you for the time and thought you put into them. Your responses help give our staff some background to the children they will be teaching in the upcoming year and how to provide support.
As Head of Primary, I see daily how powerful these relationships are between students and teachers, between school and home, and across our wider community. When we work together, children feel secure and supported, and that allows them to take risks in their learning, grow in resilience, and flourish.
At MCC, relationships truly matter, and we are grateful to partner with you in this important work.
