Secondary News

Welcome back! It’s great to see familiar faces returning for another year here at Melton Christian College.

Along with our familiar faces, we are also seeing a number of new faces in Secondary, particularly in Year 7! I’d like to welcome all our new students and I pray that you all start feeling ‘at home’ very soon.

I’d also like to take this opportunity to welcome some Secondary Staff that are new to the College. We have Mr Jhon Ibanez joining our quickly expanding Maths and Science departments. Mr Rohan Laird will also be joining our Science department, taking on our VCE Physics subject. He will also be supporting us in the continual development of our Band program. Lastly, Mr James Ikonomou will be joining our Humanities team. Please welcome these teachers to our community when you see them next.

We also have Mrs Amy Lewis coming on board to help us with the daily organisation and running of the College. Welcome Amy!

There are also some current staff members who are stepping up and taking on new roles. I’m looking forward to seeing Mr Carmine Gambardella serve our community as a Maths and Science teacher this year. Mrs Kerri-Ann Ciarniello has accepted the position of Secondary Sports Coordinator. Lastly, Mrs Sara Zarosinski will add Administrative Assistant to the Head of Secondary to her role this year. Congratulations to all these staff!

If you are new to the community, we believe that a strong teacher and parent partnership is important to the support and success of all our students. I encourage you to connect with your child’s homeroom teacher to help strengthen this partnership.
