Last Monday I was fortunate enough to attend our Senior Student Leadership Retreat. It was a great day sharing learnings and meals with our student leaders in the beautiful surroundings of the Eynesbury Homestead.
We were blessed to have the Global Leadership Summit group partner with us on the day and share some of their teachings online. Students learnt the art of radical hospitality, to always find your ‘why’, the three Cs of leaders (Character, Competence, Courage) and even tips on public speaking.
The feedback from our student leaders was positive as they found the day inspiring and helpful. The staff who attended expressed how our students showed an incredible desire to know and serve our community, creating a clear vision which was to ‘make a positive difference’ in our College. Everything the student leaders spoke about was around serving our community which, for me, was very pleasing to listen to as it is one of our Core Values.
The day ended with our Year 12 Senate members delivering a speech to apply for the roll of 2023 College Captain. Every student who spoke had amazing strengths and no doubt would do a great job. We are looking forward to announcing our 2023 College Captains at a full secondary assembly in a couple of weeks’ time.
