Teamwork at Year 8 Camp

Newsletter | Secondary Update

For the first time, our Year 8 cohort embarked on an overnight hike together—and for the first time, the experience took place in the beautiful surrounds of Eildon, in partnership with The Outdoor Education Group.

Students were divided into eight groups, each carrying their personal belongings, tents, and cooking equipment in their backpacks. They embraced the challenge of navigating their routes, setting up camp, and preparing their own meals in the great outdoors.

Immersed in the beauty of God’s creation, students had time to pause, reflect, and appreciate His handiwork. The evening was spent around campfires toasting marshmallows, sharing devotions, reflecting on the day, and settling into our tents beneath a breathtaking canopy of stars.

Although the weather brought rain and the terrain tested us at times, our Year 8s showed remarkable perseverance, teamwork, and resilience. This shared experience served as a powerful reminder that with the support and encouragement of others, they are more than capable of meeting new challenges—and growing through them.
