Values at the Center

Newsletter | Primary Update

It is a delight to welcome all of our Primary families back for Term Four. It is hard to believe we have reached the final term of the school year.

Term Four is always a special time in the life of our school. It is a season filled with learning, growth, celebration, and many opportunities for students to finish the year strongly. As we begin the term, we encourage our students to approach each day with a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, and a commitment to always doing their best.

At Chapel this week, we reflected on the importance of what we hold in our hearts. The things that fill our hearts are often the things that others see through our words, attitudes, and actions. When our hearts are filled with kindness, care, respect, compassion, and gratitude, these qualities naturally flow into the way we treat those around us.

We reminded students that our five MCC Core Values are not simply words displayed around our school. They are values that need to be held in our hearts if we are a part of the MCC community. When these values are lived out each day, they become visible in practical ways. These include inviting someone who is on their own at playtime to join in with you, speaking respectfully to classmates and teachers, showing responsibility for learning, encouraging a friend who is struggling with something, doing the right thing even when no one is watching, and caring for our school environment. These everyday choices help shape the culture of our school and reflect Christ’s love to others.

A continued focus for us this term is being calm. Calm classrooms create the best environment for learning, while calm playtimes help ensure every child feels safe, included, and able to enjoy their time at school. When students choose calm responses, calm actions, and calm words, they contribute to a culture where great learning can occur and positive relationships can flourish.

Thank you for your ongoing partnership and support. Together we have the privilege of helping our children grow academically, socially, and spiritually. What an absolute honour God has given us to nurture and care for His children in this way.
