Walking the journey together

Newsletter | Primary Update

Last week, we had the privilege of hosting our Primary Parent Teacher Conversations—a meaningful opportunity to strengthen the partnership between home and school. These conversations are more than just academic updates; they are a reflection of the deep care and commitment our staff have for your children.

At Melton Christian College, our staff do more than teach—they nurture, guide, and truly know your children. They understand each child’s strengths and areas for growth, and many see their students as part of their extended family. Building relationships is at the heart of what we do, because we believe that knowing a child well is essential to supporting them effectively.

As Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” This verse beautifully reflects our shared mission—to guide and nurture each child in a way that honours their unique journey and God-given potential.

The Primary team, along with myself, deeply value our role in the morning welcome team. It is a joy and a privilege to greet each child as they enter Melton Christian College. While we may not know all 546 names, we know their faces, their smiles, and their presence. More importantly, we know them as children of God—each one wonderfully made and deeply loved.

Please be assured that your child is in good hands each day. In the hands of staff who love, care for, and are committed to knowing your child. This intentional relationship-building allows us to teach in ways that complement how your child learns best.

We also encourage you to reach out to your child’s homeroom teacher if there is anything happening outside of school that may affect their experience at school. When we are aware of these circumstances, we can provide the right support—sometimes even just for a short time—that makes a meaningful difference.

Together, in partnership, we will help your child grow—academically, emotionally, and spiritually. As Philippians 1:6 encourages us, “Being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” We hold this promise close as we continue to walk alongside your child in their learning journey, trusting that God is at work in their lives.

Thank you for your continued partnership.

Together, with faith, care, and commitment, we will help your child grow into all that God has called them to be.
