Why Families Choose Schools Like Ours

Newsletter | Principal's Message

Parents choose schools for all sorts of reasons.
We know that their choice comes out of a deeply personal decision. Schooling is personal for families, and it ought to be personal for the school too.

Our school families have chosen Christian education because for them it offers something different, and although each family’s reasons are unique, there are commonalities.

For many of our families, the school’s pro-social values matter most. Parents appreciate an environment where honesty, kindness, integrity, and respect are not just talked, but are ‘walked’. Consistency between home, church, and school helps children develop a strong moral compass and a sense of meaningfulness in life.

Some parents choose Christian schooling for the sense of community. For many, our school is like an extended family. Relationships matter and every child is known and seen. Parents value partnership with teachers. We all care as much about emotional wellbeing as they do about academic growth. A sense of belonging is incredibly valued by families.

Quality teaching for the whole child matters to parents. Christian schools strive for excellence in teaching and learning, encouraging students to do their best and discover their unique gifts. Our school parents appreciate that education is viewed holistically, developing the head, heart, and hands rather than focusing solely on academic results.

Faith integration is enormously valued. Holistic Christian education weaves faith naturally into all areas of learning. Wherever the learning is happening, students are led to think deeply, act compassionately, and grow in character.

Parents love their children to feel hopeful and to learn a hope-filled perspective on life. Despite society’s ruthlessness, and the rapidity of change, parents choosing Christian schools choose for resilience, strong identity, and a foundation of hope.

So, parents and staff, let’s continue to value what is valuable, and jointly teach our precious learners the wonderful truths that led parents to choose this school in the first place.
